Tag Team Battle Royal (Winning team challenges for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at AEW Revolution)
Barring any surprises, which to be fair would not at all be a shock, the entrants here are as follows: The Best Friends, Jurassic Express represented by Jungleboy and Luchasaurus, The Stronghearts, The Butcher & The Blade, The Hybrid-2, Private Party, John Silver & Alex Reynolds of the Dark Order, SCU represented by Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian, Proud-N-Powerful, and the Young Bucks. That is a loaded field, fair to say.
It is sort of interesting that of those ten teams, the banner members of the Dark Order, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson are not involved in this, letting their underlings enter instead. Like I said, they could be here anyway and simply be unannounced. But it’s also entirely possible that AEW simply wishes to protect them and the mystique they’re always trying to build with them, so it’s not crazy to think they just don’t want to let them get tossed from this.
The likes of Reynold & Silver are not likely to last too long, and the Stronghearts would be the most likely to be eliminated after that. From that point on, though, you can really see the depth of this division being shown off. The most likely Final Four would be SCU, Proud-N-Powerful, The Young Bucks and perhaps the Best Friends. But it wouldn’t be at all strange to see Private Party or the Jurassic Express go deep either. Butcher & Blade will do damage but they’re always more focused on injuring people than doing damage.
A funny bit on BTE saw Hangman Page going around backstage giving the other teams advice on how to eliminate Matt & Nick Jackson. One half of the tag champs clearly does not want to see the Bucks advance. Which is too bad, because they’re the logical winners, the obvious favorites, and my picks. Young Bucks over.
