A common part of AEW Dark is to have guests come on and provide commentary for the show. One of these past guests was Vickie Guerrero, the widow of Eddie Guerrero and a major figure in WWE in her own way. She became one of the best heel figures in the company during her time as the General Manager of Smackdown and having a partnership with Dolph Ziggler.
Despite her past with WWE, she has revealed that they have ignored her since she appeared for their competitions B-show.
Vickie Guerrero Would Often Have WWE Talent On Her Podcast
As with most personalities in the wrestling industry, Vickie Guerrero has a podcast. In the past, it wouldn’t be uncommon for someone from the WWE locker room to come on and speak with Vickie about wrestling, life, whatever was on their mind. This was until her appearance on AEW Dark.
Since that moment, she has revealed that WWE has flat out ignored any emails sent from Vickie looking for people to interview or chances to get on programming.
Vickie Didn’t Have A WWE Contract
While she might pop up occasionally for WWE, Vickie is by all accounts a free agent. Any company who wants to work with her can offer her a role, and it’s within her rights to take it. If AEW wants to give her a stint on commentary, she should have no issue doing so. “I love wrestling. I love to work in the ring. And if someone is giving me an opportunity to go and show up and have some fun, then I should be able to because I’m not obligated to anybody.” is what Vickie had to say about this scenario.
Should AEW Hire Vickie After This Incident?
While AEW aren’t responsible for WWE being petty over this situation, they could use an experienced figure like Vickie. She was fantastic on commentary, would make for a great manager, and could pitch in with their newly launched “AEW Unrestricted” podcast. It would not be hard for her to find a role in the growing company, and maybe it AEW shows interest in a longer term role for Vickie, suddenly WWE will want her back.
