The comeback story of Daniel Bryan is one of the best in modern wrestling. After being forced into retirement in 2016, he would fight hard to make his way back to the ring. He would get another run on top as WWE Champion, before losing the belt in a now classic match to Kofi Kingston at Wrestlemania. Most recently, he has worked to make Drew Gulak into a star for WWE. Could this be so Gulak can take his place in the future?
Daniel Bryan Is Going To Be A Father Of Two
With his first child, Birdie Danielson being born in 2017, and another on the way with his wife Brie Bella, he will soon have two kids to worry about on the home front. It can’t be easy to be away on the road with two small children, which could be a major factor in what could be a major choice. While on the Bella Twins podcast, he spoke on how this will effect his career as a wrestler for WWE. ”
“WWE has been great, they are going to give me six weeks paternity leave, which so few places in the United States do that. I get to be home that first six weeks, but then after that it’s not long until my contract is up. We’ve been talking about what we’re going to do there.
In my mind, I think I’m just done being a full time wrestler. I love being a dad, I will always love wrestling, and I always wanna do wrestling, but when I say always do wrestling, that means once a month, or once every couple months.”
He Will Never Stop Wrestling
While he might not be wrestling every week anymore after that point, Daniel Bryan has stated in the past that if he has his way, he will keep wrestling into his 70’s. To maintain that type of career, he will have to change his style and schedule. This change will likely lead to him being on the road less, and able to spend more time with his children. If he chooses not the rejoin with WWE, we could see him pop up all over the world, giving us wrestling classics at every stop for years to come.
