One of the best characters in the recent history of WWE is Elias. The wandering troubadour has been around since 2014 in NXT, where he failed to make a splash. It was only when he came to Monday Night RAW in 2017 that his career really hit it’s stride. He has become a fan favorite, as well as a hated villain. Few people can get as much of a reaction as him with just his mere presence. Despite this, he has been kept firmly in the under-card, and is hungry to prove he is more than just a man with a guitar and top 100 album on iTunes.
Elias Wants A Bigger Role
Elias has proved he is one of the more dependable members of the roster. He is safe to work with, and rarely injured. You could draw some comparisons to that of The Miz, who would become WWE Champion at his peak. If no one else knows how good he is, Elias himself knows. Speaking on Busted Open, he would say the following. “I am begging for the opportunity to be, you know, even further along than where I am” Elias began. “And you know what, it’s great. I’m on television every week and people feel alive. But I tell you what, man, I feel like I’m capable of even more. I am looking for that on all aspects, to the point where people might be getting upset with me because I’m pushing so hard.”
Always Improving
In the world of WWE, you can’t rest on your laurels and coast, or you’ll be taken off TV and put down the card. Elias doesn’t have this problem. He is always working on ways to make his gimmick even better, and improving in the ring. Since his debut, the only times he got a good chance to shine as a wrestler was a match with Seth Rollins over the Intercontinental Championship at Money In The Bank 2018 and a match against Ali on an episode of Smackdown in 2019. If he is given the chance to shine, he will step up in a huge way and prove that he could be a world champion some day.
