AEW Dynamite is on tonight! In these trying times, I think we could all use the escape so let’s see how they handle this rough spot. I choose to have faith. Tonight, Jurassic Express – represented by Luchasaurus and Jungleboy – take on MJF’s personal mercenary squad, the Butcher and the Blade! I am Jordan Huie, you are here with us at the Overtimer and hopefully you’re all staying safe and sound. You can expect the same kind of coverage as per usual, with live recaps and results from the show as they come, plus previews of everything that’s on tap for tonight!
Of course AEW comes to us from the Daily’s Place, and it’s gonna be an empty arena show, their first attempt at this. It sounds as if they’re going to attempt to put on the same level of show as usual, tough as that’s gonna be.
Jurassic Express (Jungleboy & Luchasaurus) vs. The Butcher & The Blade
Last week, MJF and his favored mercenaries the Butcher & the Blade defeated Jurassic Express in a trios match. This was largely thanks to dirty dealings and it was a rough night for the babyfaces considering they had both the Bunny and Wardlow at ringside to contend with, not to mention the cheap tactics of MJF. Tonight, we have a rematch of sorts except MJF is no longer involved and presumably Wardlow won’t be making his presence felt either. Now we have a tag match and it seems set to be a much more fair encounter.
Of course the Bunny is still at ringside but now Marko Stunt is in the managerial position as well, and seeing him try to neutralize her sure would be fun. The Butcher and the Blade are threats for certain but far from unbeatable, they’re actually a rare act that cares more for dealing damage than actually getting victories. That’s what gets them paid more, after all. And it does seem like for whatever reason MJF takes enough exception with the Jurassic Express to put a hit out on them, seemingly just for existing!
The unique triumvirate of three distinct sizes is one of the most popular acts in AEW, and since the turn of 2020 they’ve really been a lot more successful as well. So I can only assume this will be a pretty solid win for the Jurassic Express.
