WWE Elimination Chamber continues.
Handicap Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship: Braun Strowman (c) vs. Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro
Sami makes like he’s gonna start, has a few mocking darts towards Braun before just tagging right out to Shinsuke who himself gets taken down with a big headbutt. Power whip into the corner. Gets Nakamura with a big body block in the corner, tries to attack Sami who leaps to the floor to avoid him, Shinsuke gets him with a low dropkick to the shins. Cesaro tags in, grinds him down with a side headlock. Distracts the ref as Sami gets him with a cheap shot from the floor. Zayn tags in, stomps him into the mat, tags right back out to Shinsuke. Driving knees to the ribs.
Isolation commences, I suppose, though there’s nobody to make a hot tag here. Sami cackles as he stands on the throat of Braun, poses for big heat. Tag to Cesaro. Running boot to the face, tag to Sami. Little boxer pose as he sends punch after punch to Braun. Mocks him, yells “Get these hands” before Braun whips his vision to him, Sami just runs away, tags in Nakamura who gets him down with a sleeper! Strowman fights to his feet, smashes Shinsuke into the mat. Cesaro tags his way in, Braun tosses him all across the ring, charges but Cesaro gets a boot up, Nakamura tags in but gets a big shot to the chest.
Everyone’s taken to the outside, Braun wants to run around the ringside but Sami comes in from behind to attack him! Braun no sells and slowly turns around… gives chase as Sami skedaddles out of the ring! Braun pursues, running through Shinsuke, even sending Cesaro into the crowd! Zayn hides under the ring, Braun tries to get him but it gives Cesaro and Nakamura time to grab him. They toss him into the steps! Thrown into the ring, Nakamura with a knee to the back of the neck for a nearfall. Cesaro pulls Braun up for the Neutralizer but Braun hoists him up onto his shoulders! Punches Nak to the floor! Sami in, gets chased off, allows Cesaro to dropkick Braun right into the post! Cesaro distracts the ref as Nakamura Kinsashas Braun right into the ringpost!
Sami tags in as both men pull Braun to his feet. Hook him for the double suplex, Helluva Kick on the way down! Sami covers, gets the pin!
Winner: Sami Zayn
And with that… Sami Zayn is now the WWE Intercontinental Champion. Seemed like an obvious thing years ago but man did it take quite a path to get there.
