This past Friday, it was an eerie but effective episode of Smackdown Live. Shot in the WWE Performance Center, there were no fans in the seats as action and promos took place like normal. One of the things that saved the show for viewers was the antics of Triple H, who was partnered with Micheal Cole early in the show. There were other guests intended for the evening, and Triple H was only set to be around for the tag team match of Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss.
Fans Demanded More Triple H On Social Media, And WWE Listened
Because the chemistry shown between Triple H & Cole, the call was made to send him back out after his time was up for more antics. This resulted in more hilarious moments such as Triple H taking control of a camera and saying they were understaffed so he had to wear many hats, and fixing Cole’s makeup on the fly. Combined with his dry wit during matches, and fans were reminded of the incredible charisma the runner of NXT possesses. This was an example of WWE actually giving fans what they wanted, and it paid off huge for them.
Will He Be In The Same Role Tonight On Monday Night RAW?
While the show ended up being fine in the end, Monday Night RAW and it’s three hour runtime could make the situation harder to deal with for WWE & fans alike. You can have too much of a good thing, and that could be the case if RAW has three more hours of antics from the former world champion. We can expect to see him due to the amazing feedback, but they need to use him wisely.
RAW has a stacked card going into tonight, with Stone Cold set to appear, a contract signing between Undertaker & AJ Styles, and Edge showing up. It will be odd seeing legends enter to no-fanfare, but the situation calls for exactly that. Combine that with action from the full time roster and the potential showing of PPV matches, and it will serve as a nice distraction from the world around us.
