There is only one team in this match who truly knows what to expect from a tag team Elimination Chamber match. This is The New Day, who are not only the only team to have entered a match of this type, but also the only team with a win in Elimination Chamber. The only other tag team to win a match of this type was Sasha Banks & Bayley when they claimed the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Beyond that historic moment, The New Day have won the only other tag team Elimination Chamber match. Will they add to their record on Sunday?
Kofi Kingston is a Elimination Chamber Expert
With four matches under his belt, including his tag team win in 2015 and the gutsy performance from last years chamber match, Kofi Kingston is more prepared than anyone else to win this match. With Big E on his side as well, who is technically undefeated in the Elimination Chamber, it is hard to not assume they have the best odds of victory.
The New Day Want Their Titles Back
While John Morrison & The Miz are champions going into this match, this is the first chance since the loss at Super Showdown that The New Day will have a chance to win the belts back. Even with there being five teams to deal with, their priority will be revenge on the men who ended their fifth reign as Smackdown Tag Team Champions.
More Tag Team Success Than Any Other Entrant
The New Day are seven time tag team champions, having held the WWE Tag Team Championship’s twice (including the longest reign in the belts history at 483 days) and Smackdown Tag Team Championships five times. Add in the fact that Kofi Kingston has well over a thousand days as a tag team champion, it is very hard to root for anyone else in this match. Their history is paved in gold, but they always have room for more.
The only downside they have going into this match is everyone knows to prepare for Big E & Kofi Kingston, as third member Xavier Woods is still out with an injury. When that is the only downside, it’s hard to argue with The New Day as the favorites. Do you think they will claim their eighth tag team championship on Sunday, or is it time for another team to shine? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
