With Wrestlemania being a two night event for the first time in it’s history, that means there will be two main event slots. While both the WWE & Universal Championships have major feuds going into Wrestlemania, there is another championship that could be considered. This is the RAW Women’s Championship, held by Becky Lynch. She will go to war with Shayna Baszler, and it could be the second year in a row that title can main event.
WWE Has Heavily Promoted Their Women’s Division In The Past Two Years
While the women of WWE have always been a talented bunch, they have the best roster they have ever had. Last year, Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey & Charlotte Flair would main event, with Lynch leaving with all the gold. With that history already made, it would just double down on it and truly cement the RAW Women’s Championship as one of the most important in modern WWE.
Goldberg Is Not A Reliable Main Event
While Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns is a huge match for WWE, the backlash from Super Showdown shows that fans don’t like him in a main event role. Add in the backlash of Roman having so many Wrestlemania main event matches, and they might play it safe and use this match to kick off one of the nights in a huge way. Drew McInytre vs. Brock Lesnar is the world title match with a much bigger build, and both men are reliable to deliver a huge match when given the spotlight.
Vince McMahon Had Soured On Shayna Baszler
It would make historic sense to have the RAW Women’s Championship main event one of the nights of Wrestlemania, Vince hasn’t seen the hype in newcomer Shayna Baszler. While she tore through the women’s division in the Elimination Chamber, her performance had people leaving early to beat the traffic. While fans can’t leave early from a crowd-less show, it could lead to fans turning off the show and watching something else. The stardom of Becky Lynch could save the match however, with her being one of the biggest stars in WWE.
