Women’s Elimination Chamber Match: Shayna Baszler vs. Asuka vs. Liv Morgan vs. Sarah Logan vs. Ruby Riott vs. Natalya (Winner will face Becky Lynch for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania)
So let’s be real here, this match, to many, feels like it doesn’t particularly need to happen. Shayna Baszler appeared weeks ago on Raw and attacked Becky Lynch – right after she defeated Asuka in another stellar title match to put that feud to bed – and bit the back of her neck to tear through her flesh, allegedly. She certainly came up with a mouthful of supposed blood. This then made it pretty damn clear that Becky and Shayna was the direction for Mania. In some ways that was pretty clear coming out of Survivor Series, where the two were part of the same triple threat match and had some heated confrontations beforehand as well.
It almost seems passe to call this a foregone conclusion, it’s just far too obvious. The only slightly likely winner is Asuka, who just came off a months long feud with Becky already, she’s not about to challenge again at Mania. From there, who is even in third place here? Natalya? After doing months of next-to-nothing? Ruby Riott? Just, totally out of nowhere? Liv Morgan coming off her two squashes of Lana? Sarah Logan? …Nah.
As far as the stip goes, it’s kinda pointless. She’s the obvious challenger and nobody else even makes sense to get the shot. Even amidst rumors of Vince already being down on Shayna, seriously, what else are they gonna do here? It’s foregone. But it should make her look pretty strong, tearing through everybody. Shayna Baszler to get the victory, of course.
