With COVID-19 wrecking havoc all around the world, it is better to be safe than sorry with any wrestlers even seeming to be sick. This is the case with two WWE stars, those being Dana Brooke & Rey Mysterio. Both were scheduled for matches at Wrestlemania, but those have been adjusted as both have entered quarantine for a 14 day period.
Smackdown Women’s Championship Match Is Now A Five Way
This comes at a horrible tame for Dana Brooke, as she had a major match at Wrestlemania planned. She was one of the five women set to face Bayley in an elimination match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Now the match has been changed to just Bayley vs. Sasha Banks vs. Naomi vs. Lacey Evans vs. Tamina. This has some storyline potential for Dana Brooke, as they could spin this into a mystery. With WWE not liking to mention Coronavirus, they might have to find a way to explain her absence. By having it seem like someone took Dana Brooke out before her title match, it gives her a story to tell when she is able to come back to WWE.
Rey Mysterio Would Have Been Involved In A United States Championship Four Way
One of the big angles of Monday Night RAW has been the brewing feud between four men. These are four talented luchadors, Andrade, Angel Garza, Humbero Carillo and Rey Mysterio. Rumors indicate that they would have clashed at Wrestlemania for the United States Championship held by Andrade. With Rey Mysterio out of the picture, they have pivoted to Angel Garza & Andrade chasing the RAW Tag Team Championships, and they will face The Street Profits at Wrestlemania instead. This United States Championship feud can be picked back up when Rey Mysterio gets the all clear, and perhaps even saved for an event with a rabid crowd which would be wowed by the lucha libre antics of this talented group.
These are the only two WWE superstars who have been active and have been taken off TV due to this. We could see more cases in the coming weeks, and we wish anyone effected the best of luck and a quick recovery.
