Since her heel turn, Bayley has been on top of the world. She recently became the longest reigning Smackdown Women’s Champion of all time, and is set to defend at Wrestlemania 36. The match is set to be Bayley vs. Lacey Evans vs. Dana Brooke vs. Tamina vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks. While this is also notable as the first singles title chance in Taminas career, it makes history for Bayley in particular.
First Person To Defend All Main Roster Women’s Championships At Wrestlemania
While Bayley has often be the overlooked member of the Four Horsewomen of NXT, she is the history maker of the bunch. With this defense of the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 36, she will have defended the RAW Women’s Championship (Wrestlemania 33), WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship (Wrestlemania 35), and now the Smackdown Women’s Championship at the event. No other woman can stake claim to this, but Bayley. She was successful at Wrestlemania 33, but the Boss n’ Hug Connection lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to The Iconics at Wrestlemania 35.
Will Bayley Retain At Wrestlemania?
With five opponents in the match, and it being done in an elimination style, this will be the hardest defense of her reign. She has both people hungry for their first taste of gold in Lacey Evans, Dana Brooke & Tamina, as well as former champions in Naomi & Sasha Banks. Sasha Banks has been her ally in recent months, but she is not exactly the most trustworthy individual. If anything, Sasha Banks could be the favorite to win the title at the event, setting up a huge singles clash for when WWE is back in-front of crowds. Naomi is also a strong option, as she has been more popular than ever following her huge return at the Royal Rumble.
If Bayley retains, WWE will be stuck without someone to feud against after this, as she has beaten any viable contenders. This is barring a call up from NXT like Binaca Belair, or a returning Nia Jax. This is the best place for Bayley’s second reign to end, but it might not end her dominance.
