Wrestlemania 36 is going to be one of the weirdest in the brands history. It will break the lowest attendance record, where we will be seeing it done in an empty arena setting. While WWE has been pushing out RAW, Smackdown, and NXT from the WWE Performance Center, and Wrestlemania will be there, but also in other unannounced arenas.
This Is The Safest Option For WWE
WWE is not a brand who enjoys playing things risky at this point. They have held their spot as the number one company since WCW died off, and they aren’t going to give that up by having an outbreak of COVID-19 rip through their roster like Brock Lesnar in the 2020 Royal Rumble. By splitting their roster over multiple nights and locations, they ensure that even if things go wrong, they know who was effected so they can push on.
This Happened To Poor Reception For Wrestlemania 2
After the huge success of the first Wrestlemania, Vince McMahon made the choice to run his next huge event from multiple packed arenas. This lead to fans getting some live action, then watching the rest on large provided screens. It’s clear why fans were upset, and why they haven’t done it again until now. The upside to doing this again, is that an empty arena of fans can’t get upset over having to watch matches from a screen.
Where Else Will Wrestlemania Air From?
We know one venue for Wrestlemania, that being the WWE Performance Center. With most arenas shut down, it is unclear where else we will see the show shot from. One safe bet is Full Sail University, the home of NXT. With them only sending a small crew and roster to each arena, they could limit the number to safe levels. This could open the doors of Full Sail again for them. Another option is the WWE Warehouse. There is more than enough room to set up a set and ring in there, and it would be perfect for a chaotic Last Man Standing match between Edge & Randy Orton. The final major option is right at WWE Headquarters in Stanford. This one is unlikely, but it is a WWE owned building making it a contender.
