Since last fall, WWE and Fox Sports have been linked with shows like WWE Backstage & of course, Smackdown Live. With Fox Sports own Rob Gronkowski set to be the host of Wrestlemania 36, they have teamed up to showcase both nights of Wrestlemania on Fox Sports digital platforms as well as more WWE content on FS1 leading into the event.
60$ For Both Nights Of Wrestlemania On Fox
As noted on FoxSports.com, viewers can live stream two nights of the Wrestlemania pay-per-view for $59.99 on the FOX Sports and FOX NOW Apps. They will also be hosting their own preshow events, where a panel of experts will be breaking down the night’s upcoming matches.
This deal also includes one hour editted versions of the past few Wrestlemania events to be aired on FS1, as well as showing some WWE 24 specials and the Ruthless Aggression docuseries. Finally this includes some of the recent ‘Best Of’ specials focused on stars like Stone Cold, The Rock, Ric Flair and more.
Stephanie McMahon Comments On This Deal
“Six months after our historic partnership brought Smackdown to its new home on FOX, we are thrilled to deliver even more premium programming, including Wrestlemania partnership with FOX Sports, it’s a privilege to be able to entertain our fans each week and put smiles on their faces particularly during a time when they need it the most.”
These sentiments were echoed by Fox president Mark Silverman, who said the following. “We hope this lineup of sports entertainment programming serves as a much-needed relief for fans. We appreciate the hard work and creativity of the teams on both sides of our long-term partnership with WWE.”
The WWE Network Will Still Have Wrestlemania This Year
While this 60$ package might draw in casual fans, most fans will be watching the same way as previous years. You can still get a month of WWE Network for a fraction of the cost of this Wrestlemania package, with it on;y being 9.99$ a month, and even free trials being offered. It is baffling that anyone would go with the Fox Sports package given the alternative, especially as it will be hard to split the bill during a watch party like some would. The FS1 content is a great way to hype the event, and that could bring in some viewers on it’s own.
