At Wrestlemania 36, the opening match of Night One saw WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) defend against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross. They got the time to have a great match, and in the end we saw Cross & Bliss become the first ever two time Women’s Tag Team Champions. With this accolade, Alexa Bliss became someone who was able to make history on that night. Alexa Bliss is the only woman in WWE to have held every main roster title at least twice.
Who Else Is Close To This Accolade?
Due to the young history of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, this is hard to accomplish. Only four teams were able to win the titles since their debut, them being Boss n’ Huge Connecction (Bayley & Sasha Banks), The Iconics (Peyton Royce & Billie Kay), Kabuki Warriors and BlissCross. In this batch, only Alexa Bliss, Bayley, Sasha Banks, & Asuka. Bayley would need to win the RAW Women’s Championship and Tag Championships again. Sasha Banks would need to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship twice and Tag Championships again. Asuka would how to win the RAW Championship twice, Smackdown title once again, and of course, Tag Championships again. This puts into perspective of how special this is. Another person close would be Charlotte Flair, who simply needs to win the Tag Championships twice, she previously attempted this in the main event of TLC alongside Becky Lynch.
Who Will Feud With Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross First?
With Asuka & Kairi Sane likely to go back to being singles stars, and the division sparse, there isn’t many opponents for BlissCross. The Iconics are set to return soon, and possibly have been repackaged. There are thrown together teams like Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke as well as Naomi & Carmella. We could also see them head to NXT and face off with teams like Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez or Aliyah & Vanessa Bourne. The Women’s Tag Team Division is sparse, and that is something WWE will have to address, but they have had some strong teams as champions so far.
