WWE Monday Night Raw is on live once again here tonight and Drew McIntyre is opening up the show. He gets the cameraman to come closer to address the fans directly. He thanks us for allowing him into their living rooms. He also wants to say thank you for the outpour of support since he won the championship, notes that the internet can sometimes be negative if you didn’t know, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Talks about how surreal it is that he beat Brock Lesnar under five minutes and then just twenty minutes later, in came the Big Show. McIntyre shows some highlights of that little bonus match and commentates it himself basically. Reiterates that he beat Brock Lesnar and the Big Show back-to-back and he thinks that sets the tone for the kind of champion that Drew McIntyre is going to be. Tells all the superstars back there if they deserve an opportunity at the title, they will get one. He starts to talk about how much the title means to him… when suddenly out comes the WWE United States Champion Andrade! Guess that injury wasn’t as severe as they made it seem.
Zelina Vega introduces Andrade as the real champion of Raw.
Drew says he knows exactly who Andrade is. Zelina laughs and says that’s right, how could they forget? She apologizes for having to ruin his celebration. Says they just wanted to congratulate him in person. Who else can say they had two WrestleMania moments in one night? It’s impressive. But while that was happening, Andrade suffered an injury that robbed him of his. Says it’d be a shame if someone were to injure McIntyre and take it away from him.
Drew says you can stop talking in circles, he remembers what happens last time he went up against Andrade. He went in as NXT Champion and Andrade took the gold, left him with his bicep torn off the bone. Cost him six months of his career and ended his run in NXT. I’m amazed but really glad they brought this up. Drew McIntyre says if he wants a champion-vs-champion match, they got it tonight. Andrade says last time he took McIntyre on, he took him out. This time, no more Senor Nice Guy. That’s, yeah, that’s what he said…
