In WWE, one of the best wrestlers in the world has been sitting in the undercard for close to a decade now. He has found great success as a tag team specialist alongside Tyson Kidd, Jack Swagger & Shemus, won the Andre The Giant Battle Royal, and has been a fan favorite for years. This is of course the Swiss Cyborg, Cesaro. Former WWE producer and master of the Spinebuster, Arn Anderson spoke on why Cesaro has never gotten a major push on his podcast.
Cesaro Is Not Viewed As A Superstar Backstage
Despite being one of the most consistently impressive wrestlers on the roster, Cesaro isn’t viewed as a top star backstage. During a podcast where he spoke on Extreme Rules 2015, Arn Anderson started to talk about Cesaro after remembering the match where Cesaro & Tyson Kidd lost the WWE Tag Team Championships to The New Day. “He’s not a favorite guy, as you know, of the front office, for whatever reason that is. They’re the only ones that know because everyone else across the planet seems to think he’s a Superstar. But he continued to get leaned on to stop doing all those impressive moves as a heel. It was just too flashy and all that stuff.”
Cesaro has slowly lost moves like his giant swing, springboard uppercut, and more impressive moves. He is still able to impress in matches against the likes of Daniel Bryan, Ilja Dragonauv & Aleister Black, even without his full move-set. With him hitting 40 years old later this year, it is getting more and more likely we never get to see Cesaro go all out in the ring again in his career, as he seems content to stay with WWE. He is currently linked to Sami Zayn & Shinsuke Nakamura on the Smackdown brand, where he is helping Sami Zayn remain WWE Intercontinental Champion, and he recently failed to qualify for Money In The Bank against Daniel Bryan.
What do you think is the reason WWE refuses to get behind Cesaro despite overwhelming fan support in the past? What do you think will be next in his WWE Career? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
