AEW Dynamite rolls on and we’ll be seeing Orange Cassidy take on Jimmy Havoc later on in the night. But first we then get a look at Scorpio Sky who talks about how he’s been a wrestling fan as long as he can remember. It was just always there in his life. Other kids wanted to be firemen or policemen or superheroes when they grew up. He didn’t have that, he always wanted to be a pro wrestler. He wanted that like he wanted air. Says his mom always said he was special and no matter what he had to do to get what he wanted, he’d do it.
He talks about a severe injury that he’d gotten, a disc injury that required surgery and he was told he probably wouldn’t wrestle anymore. Says he’s not sure if he believes in miracles but one day he woke up and it didn’t hurt so much anymore. He quickly wanted to see if he he could get back in the ring. But year after year after not making it, he started to question himself. He visited his mom’s gravesite and asked for a sign. Decided he’d give pro wrestling one last shot. Might fail and fall on his face but he got that one opportunity and knocked it right out of the park. Caps off by mentioning the formation of SCU in 2017.
We then hear the recording from Dustin Rhodes, with Cody listening. Dustin talks about how this TNT Tournament is the biggest thing he’s done since Double Or Nothing. The TNT title means more to him than anyone and winning it at 51 years of age, it’s big. He talked to his wife the night before. Says that Kip Sabian is no joke but he’s confident and passionate about everything he’s ever done. Says he thinks he’s the best he’s ever been right now… if he can’t beat that son of a bitch, he’ll retire. Then, a quick look at the recent BTE 200, where Matt and Nick faced off in a crazy falls count anywhere fight all across their rather enormous property.
Out comes Havoc for his match with Cassidy. Before the bell Havoc attacks him from behind! Still pummeling him as the bell rings!
Jimmy Havoc vs. Orange Cassidy
Havoc pulls off the denim jacket and chokes him with it! Throws it out to Penelope Ford in the front row. Pulls off his shirt and chops him into the corner and now he’s choking him with the shirt as well! Takes him outside, crotches him right on the guardrail and chops him across the chest! Vertical suplex from the guardrail right onto the floor! Takes Cassidy against the post and chops him, and then posts him! Another wicked knife edge chop. Havoc resets the count. Casssidy tries to duck a chop against the post but Havoc with a blow to the back, poke to the eyes! Throws him into the ring and grinds the boot against his face. Straitjacket of sorts, choking Cassidy with his own arm! Whip to the corner, charges but Cassidy gets a boot up! And again! Cassidy goes up top but a European Uppercut stops him, Death Valley Driver for a nearfall!
Short-Arm Clothesline, takes him down with a Cross-Armbreaker, Cassidy gets a boot onto the bottom rope, Havoc keeps it on for the four count. Bites his hands and then forces them into his pockets to mock him! Forearm to the face! Pulls him in and kicks him to his knees and stomps on his legs. Pulls him up… with his hands still in his pockets, Cassidy ducks a clothesline, Kangaroo Dropkick takes him to the floor, suicide dive! Crossbody off the top! Tilt-A-Whirl Tornado DDT for a nearfall! Havoc fights back, takes Cassidy to the top rope. Wants a superplex but Cassidy shoves him to the canvas! Cassidy with a lackadaisical frog splash for a 2 count!
Havoc and Cassidy with dueling knife edge chops but of course Cassidy is barely touching him. Havoc wins out with ease but off a whip, Cassidy stops him with a flying forearm! Penelope Ford comes up to the apron to distract Cassidy! Chuck Taylor up behind her to stop her. Ford tries to kick him but Taylor blocks it, tries to pull her off but she just lands in the splits! Kip Sabian surprises Taylor with a tope! But Cassidy gets Havoc with an inside cradle for the victory!
Winner: Orange Cassidy
Well I actually didn’t expect that! Maybe Havoc/Mox isn’t happening any time soon after all. But afterwards Havoc attacks Cassidy and spikes him with a Rope-Hung DDT! Afterwards Cassidy is limp and can’t even be helped up.
