Samoa Joe is a legend in professional wrestling, and despite his best years being well behind him in the ring, his prescence and legacy are enough to keep fans interested in him as a major act in a company like WWE. However, he recently got injured yet again, but was cleared ahead of Wrestlemania. He is set to return very soon, where he will take a spot on the commentary desk for Monday Night RAW.
Samoa Joe Is An Incredible Commentator
With his gruff voice and decades of wrestling experience, Samoa Joe brings a certain aura to the announce table that few can. He has previously taken this post around the tail end of 2019, before returning to the ring to feud with Seth Rollins and his new allies in Authors Of Pain. He got rave reviews during his time at the commentary desk, with fans agreeing that once his in ring career is fully done, that should be his full time role.
It will be a breath of fresh air to have him back on commentary, and it is unclear who he will be replacing. The most likely candidate is Jerry Lawler, who due to his age and previous health issues, should be far away from tapings given the global pandemic.
Is This A Sign Joe Is Retiring?
With Samoa Joe starting to slow down in the ring as injuries continue to pile up, this could be a sign that the end is very near for him as a full time wrestler for WWE. He is far from the same man who ruled the ring in companies like Impact Wrestling & Ring Of Honor, and even his NXT run seems very long ago when you see him in the ring.
Given that he has shown great ability on commentary, we could see him take a role similar to Jerry Lawler, who would wrestle occassionally while mainly serving as the lead colour commentator on Monday Night RAW. This would help to extend his career to give it more longevity.
Are you excited to see Samoa Joe get back on the commentary desk for WWE? Who should he be replacing on the commentary desk? Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips or Jerry Lawler? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
