In WWE right now, there are very few men who are able to pull off a gimmick quite like Elias. He has brought the musician gimmick used by the likes of Jeff Jarrett & Honky Tonk Man to the modern era, and in the process has become one of the most beloved of the undercard in WWE. Elias has had a few shots at championship glory, namely the Intercontinental Championship, but nothing too promising. With Money In The Bank just around the corner, should 2020 be the year Elias finally realizes his potential as a champion?
Money In The Bank Should Be Used To Build New Stars
Since the inception of the Money In The Bank ladder match over fifteen years ago, it has rarely been used to successfully make a new star. Edge & CM Punk won their first world championships off it, and those were the biggest star that were made from the match. Others like Mr. Kennedy, Damien Sandow, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz and Jack Swagger were not as fortunate, having either failed their cash-ins, lost the briefcase, or won world titles only to be fail as a main event star. The match has mostly been used to enhance stars that were already made, like Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Brock Lesnar and Kane. With a reduced overall roster this year, you can only hope the field will be filled with wrestlers who have yet to taste the World Championship.
Elias Has All The Tools To Be A Star, He Just Needs A Chance
Ever since he left NXT and drifted onto the main roster, Elias has shown that he is one of the most adaptable superstars WWE has. He works great as either a face or a heel, has charisma to spare, has a fantastic look, and is a very capable worker in the ring when he gets the chance to show that. Add in the chance for a fun custom MITB guitar case for him to carry the contract around in, and he is a perfect fit to win the Money In The Bank ladder match this year.
Do you think Elias should get a chance to enter the Money In The Bank ladder match? Could you see him winning the match? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
