Ever since his return to the ring with a new attitude, Jack Gallagher has been one of, if not the most terrifying parts of 205 Live. He is now cold, calculated, and ready to destroy anyone on his way to victory and the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. With a tournament planned to name the interim champion, he has even more reason to be focused. The same goes for Oney Lorcan, who while on a losing streak, is always one win away from huge success. What would go down when these two ruthless forces would clash for the first time ever match?
Before this match could even begin, there was already a wrench thrown into the match, as Tony Nese refused to leave the ringside area after beating Danny Burch. With bones to pick with Gallagher and Lorcan, it added something else to this match. Gallagher confronted Nese, and send him away as Lorcan made his way to the ring.
A Stiff Battle Between Jack Gallagher & Oney Lorcan
As expected with who is in the ring, action started quick with Lorcan going for this Half & Half Suplex, before being countered. Things would get technical as they went to the ground, with Gallagher starting to tie up Lorcan and hit some ground and pound. Not be outdone, Lorcan fought back and Gallagher found himself in a Terry Funk style spinning toe hold.
Once vertical, they exchanged strikes once again, before another sprawl for control began. This was a slow paced and meticulous match, which suited Gallagher perfectly as he picked apart Lorcan. Lorcan would make this his type of match as he would send a stiff chop to the throat of Gallagher, who barely registered that pain as welcomed more, before being dropped on his head with a backdrop.
They sat in the middle of the ring, and slapped the taste out of each others mouths to prove who is tougher. Gallagher yelled for Lorcan to hit him, who gave his best but just fired up Gallagher who came back twice as hard, which only got Lorcan to hit harder. The chops would welt the chest of Gallagher as they echoed through the arena. Gallagher came back with headbutts, before being hit with the Half & Half Suplex for a near fall. Lorcan was fully fired up now, hitting a huge lariat for another near fall. He placed Gallagher on the top rope for an avalanche Half & Half Suplex , but Gallagher fought free and hit a diving crossbody.
Tony Nese showed back up with a steel chair at ringside, and the distraction nearly ended the match as Lorcan went for a roll-up before being dropped by a headbutt. Tony Nese would rush the ring and attack Gallagher, ending this one in a DQ.
This Tournament Will Bring Out The Best In 205 Live
With Nese having now snapped before the brackets were even announced, this shows that this tournament is a huge deal to everyone eligible. Nese, Lorcan and Gallagher should all be involved, and hopefully we will see Nese face Gallagher, as well as a rematch between Lorcan & Gallagher, as this match was incredible. Who do you think will be in this tournament?
