The WWE hasn’t missed a stride despite performing in front of an empty Performance Center over the last few weeks, and they’re showing their creativity when it comes to some of their matches like the Boneyard Match and Fiend versus John Cena at WrestleMania 36. They’ve outdone themselves with the Climb the Corporate Ladder Match instead of the normal Money in the Bank Match.

What is it?
The Climb the Corporate Ladder Match appears straightforward. The match will begin on the ground floor of WWE Headquarters and the wrestlers will battle their way to the roof where the briefcase will, and I’m assuming here, be suspended above a ring. I’m not sure if ladders will be involved or not, but we’re leaning toward not as much as usual given the dangers of winds and so on.
This doesn’t mean they won’t be used; they could be used sparingly.
This has so much potential to be great, and just as much to be horrible.
A perfect example is the Randy Orton – Edge match at WrestleMania. They sold each other’s moves so much it went too long and ended up boring for many of us. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of these roaming matches, but that’s just me.
They could easily spend an hour moving up WWE headquarters, so they could have the match held throughout the event and intersperse it between other matches here and there. It feels like a disservice to the match and the wrestlers if they do this, but it’s one way they can combat the drawn out length of it.
Men and women matches
The Climb the Corporate Ladder Match will be for both men and women MITB matches, and should provide some interesting comparisons between the two groups.
One will be whether the matches will mirror each other, or will they be different?
At WrestleMania, we saw the problems of no communication when both top championship matches mirrored each other. It was the epitome of what can go wrong, especially if they are pre-recorded and the people don’t get a chance to speak to one another.
If anything, the WWE should work better at organizing this than they did the championship matches, so those problems should be addressed.
