The feud between Johnny Gargano & Tomassao Ciampa is finally over after Gargano won the battle that WWE has dubbed ‘One Last Beat’, where The Rebel Heart was the one still beating. His wife Candice LeRae was involved in the finish, delivering a swift kick to the balls on Ciampa, which allowed Gargano to hit Ciampa with his own finisher. We know what came next for Ciampa, as he was taken out by Carrion Kross, but Gargano & LeRae would allow NXT cameras into their house as they explain what is next for their careers.
Gargano & LeRae Vow To Rule NXT Together
Coming in on a nice candlelit dinner at the Gargano house, this segment began with Gargano remembering the day he married LeRae. His fairy tale life came true, but that was just the start. In NXT, things have went very well for Gargano. He was the first triple crown champion, he has become the heart and soul of NXT, he proved he was the better man in #DIY. No one thought he would accomplish these things, except Gargano & his wife. Candice would enter the situation, bringing dinner to the table. They are living their dream life, and it is simply reality.
However, there is one thing that isn’t what it used to be, that being NXT itself. Gargano claims it has become a toxic wasteland in recent months. A place where the good are taken advantage of until they snap, as the horrible people thrive. Being nice to everyone only gets you so far, and that is something Gargano realized. He was sick of kindness being taken advantage of, and he realized he deserves what he wants, and is done being under appricated.
A New Candice LeRae
Another person who knows all about being underappreciated is Candice LeRae, who has been overlooked from the start. She was the token best friend, the one who always had everyones back. In War Games, she was the only one to stand by Rhea Ripley and carry them to victory. She would be the one to come to someones aid, always putting others ahead of her. This got her nowhere, despite being one of the best in the division, as proved by her classic match with Io Shirai. That has all changed, and she is now the one who will be put first. When Candice needed help, no one came to her aid, no one would return the favor. This is what showed her that something had to change.
Both Gargano & LeRae are going to start taking what they deserve. They will no longer be walked on, and this is going to be a dangerous change for NXT. This isn’t an attitude change, it is just who they wanted to be all along.
