Ever since she joined Dakota Kai at NXT Takeover Portland, Raquel Gonzalez has been a threat to the NXT Women’s division especially Kai’s rival, Tegan Nox. She costed Nox the match in Portland, then again in a Steel Cage match. After getting involved again in the Ladder match to name the Number One contender for Charlotte Flair, Nox has had enough and will finally face Gonzalez one on one. Of course, Dakota Kai would be at ringside, which will make this hard for Nox.
Raquel Gonzalez Dominates, But Tegan Nox Doesn’t Give Up
As soon as the bell rang, Gonzalez rushed at Nox who say this coming and slipped behind for a rear waist lock. This would be countered easily, as the power of Gonzalez would lead to an elevated wrist lock, lifting Nox up just to drop and hit a big lariat. Nox would try again for some offense with a headscissor takedown, but this was countered into a huge backbreaker. Back to her feet, Nox would dodge a lariat only to be hit in the back of the head with one instead. Gonzalez would lift Nox up, only for Nox to attempt a rollup which was also countered, with Gonzalez again placing Nox down only to hit a huge lariat to the back of the head.
Nox would finally find some offense as she went for some heavy strikes while dodging Gonzalez. This wouldn’t work either, with Nox being placed across the top turnbuckle for some shots to the back, then a sneaky boot to the face from Kai on the outside behind the back of the referee. Gonzalez would attempt the pin, but Nox kicked out at two. On the outside, Kai would be hit from behind by Shotzi Blackheart. Blackheart went the distance in a recent gauntlet match, only to be taken out by Kai at the end. Gonzalez would bring Blackheart to the apron and attempt a chokeslam, allowing Nox to come from behind with a rollup for the win.
Future Tag Team Match Set Up
With this finish aligning Nox & Blackheart against Kai & Gonzalez, we will likely see a tag team match between the two duos on a future episode of NXT. It was ncie to see Kai & Gonzalez get a taste of their own medicine, after months of Gonzalez constantly protecting Kai in matches. Who do you think will win this coming tag team encounter?
