It is becoming common for a professional wrestler to get out of the dangerous industry before it’s too late. We have seen stars like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, John Cena, and Batista move away from wrestling to star in movies, leaving WWE in the dust. We could see two more stars that WWE has invested heavily into follow a very similar path in the coming years. These are Roman Reigns & current RAW Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch. Are they going to go Hollywood?
Roman Reigns Was Already In A Fast & Furious Movie
The Fast & Furious movies have grown larger than anyone could have ever imagined when the first movie came out back in 2000. Now giant blockbusters, one of the latest offerings was a side-story to the series known as Hobbs & Shaw. It had usual names like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham & Vin Diesel, but you will also find Joe Anoai in this movie, better known by his ring name of Roman Reigns. Playing the brother of the character played by Dwanyne, he had a fairly major role in the movie. Reigns has the good looks and natural charisma of an actor, and with his health issues, could see acting as more appealing than professional wrestling going forward.
Becky Lynch Is Starting Her Acting Career Again
While still a dominant champion within WWE, with her current reign as RAW Women’s Champion going strong into Money In The Bank, Becky Lynch has experience as an actor. After her initial seven year retirement from professional wrestling, she had worked as an actor and acted in numerous plays. She even has a degree in acting from the Dublin Institute of Technology. After a recent appearance on Showtime series Billions, and past cameos for Vikings, Lynch could work her way into a successful acting career.
Both Reigns & Lynch will be in the movie Rumble, coming out in January 2021, which is an animated feature from Paramount Pictures, but that is with WWE Studios. It could still add to their resume, and it won’t be shocking if these two start to find less and less time to enter the ring going forward.
