WWE Monday Night Raw begins and we got ourselves an audience tonight, finally got wrestlers in the crowd. And thanks to how small this place is, it doesn’t take much to make this sound loud. They’re behind glass dividers as well. It is standing room only in there though and I don’t quite feel like that’s necessary. Three hours is kind of a while for that but eh. Anyway Kevin Owens and the Kevin Owens Show begins and they chant loud for him. Kevin says they’re all lucky, he’ll be taking on Angel Garza in a match. Gets them to say they’re excited. But later tonight there will be a triple threat match to determine the No. 1 Contender to Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship. Kevin introduces Asuka and she’s coming out still chanting for Becky.
Kevin says she deserves it since she’s not only the Man but the mom. But Asuka deserves congratulations as well for winning the Women’s title. Asuka thanks him in Japanese and he pretends he understands. He then flashes up footage of Nia Jax and her hilariously failed attempts at spiting Asuka last week. Asuka is fired up about it and talks trash on her, and Kevin pretends to understand and agree. This is until Charlotte Flair interrupts.
She makes her way into the ring and sighs. Says she needs to get something off of her chest… that Raw Women’s Championship should’ve been handed to her. Charlotte reminds her of what happens when the two of them face off, Asuka has never beaten her. Says she needs to manage her expectations. This is until Natalya makes her way out. As Nattie enters the ring, Kevin goes ahead and clears the furniture himself to save her the trouble, kinda funny. Nattie apologizes for the temper tantrum last week, she’s sorry for what she did. This gets applause. Charlotte tells her that not even sucking up to Kevin Owens will help her win this match. Then she admits that that’s rude, she should’ve told her that she was irrelevant.
This is somehow less natural in a lot of ways… Nia Jax comes out next and she has her hair back. Nia says we all know she’s gonna end up Raw Women’s Champion. As she enters the ring, Kevin leaves it. Nia tells Asuka to remember what she did to Kairi, because that’s just a fraction of what will happen to her when she bulldozes through her at Backlash. Kevin says whatever she does next, don’t hit Nia in the face. Asuka nods but then hits her with a Spinning Backfist anyhow, starting a brawl. Nattie and Charlotte roll around to the floor.
