WWE Monday Night Raw is on tonight, following an edition of Money In The Bank that, I think we can all agree, we won’t be forgetting any time soon. Tonight, the Man comes around as she often does to confront one of the Money In The Bank Ladder Match winners Asuka, and to make a special announcement of her own. We’re here at the Overtimer where as always, you can expect in-depth coverage of the night’s show, including recaps and results, plus previews of everything we can expect. So let’s go ahead and get to it.
Becky Lynch To Address Asuka Tonight, And Make Major Announcement
So last night we saw the zaniest Money In The Bank ladder match we’re likely to ever see. Technically two matches at once, with six men and six women all scrambling their way up WWE Headquarters. And of course the women’s side saw Asuka pull down the briefcase. This certainly was not what I predicted, and in fact it wasn’t even a possibility I mentioned. We’d just done the Asuka/Becky Lynch feud so much I felt for sure we were done with it and Becky would be moving on to the likes of Nia Jax, Liv Morgan or perhaps someone jumping from SmackDown.
However, Asuka was the one who got the victory and I was honestly a little curious as to why. I thought that perhaps she would be holding onto that briefcase for a while and it simply wouldn’t be immediately relevant. However, tonight, Becky Lynch will be confronting Asuka directly. But there’s a bit more to this… they’re also advertising that Becky will be making an announcement about her future. This is generally code for when a wrestler is going to talk about serious, real-life stuff on-screen.
Rumors are abounding right now that Becky Lynch might actually be about to announce a pregnancy and perhaps relinquish the title directly to Asuka, rewarding her for her MITB victory in that way. Or perhaps after she reveals this, Asuka will get to be the uber heel of the century and attack a pregnant woman to take her title. Either way this is the reoccurring thought and it’d actually fit with what we’ve seen of the past few months. Becky hasn’t competed since WrestleMania. And the handshake her beau Seth Rollins shared with Drew McIntyre was certainly interesting, feeling very much like a shift for him as well, many also noted how it seemed they were rushing to that rivalry. Perhaps Becky and Seth will both be on leave soon.
I can’t say any of this as fact off course, it’s just the common word. We’ll see if there’s anything to the rumor soon enough.
