Following a Money in the Bank pay-per-view where she didn’t appear to defend her Raw Women’s Championship, the WWE confirmed that Becky Lynch will make a career announcement on tonight’s Raw (5/11).
This comes as a surprise and it doesn’t. There have been various reports out concerning her career lately, and this is expected to be big news.
She’s expecting
This is purely speculation and one fans on the internet have been saying this since her last match, and given she’s spent the last few weeks doing more talking than anything.
If she’s pregnant, it’d be the perfect reason for her not competing and she could vacate the title. She could simply cite an injury (This could also be the reason. We have no real way of knowing for sure) and leave for the next nine to eleven months and make a surprise return at WrestleMania.
It’d be a great way of giving her time off and allowing the fans to grow un-bored with her. She may come back to mediocre cheers for some, but the bulk of fans would welcome her back with open arms like we do with any legend or would-be legend.
This one falls into line with what’s been reported by PWInsider. According to them, she’s vacate the championship to Asuka, who won the Money in the Bank match last night.
They state they know why she’s vacating it, but have been asked to remain quiet out of respect to Becky Lynch.
Movie time
Another possibility is she’s going to Hollywood. It was reported over the last week or two that Hollywood has shown interest in her and Roman Reigns, and that’d be a cool move for her. It’d give her a chance to retire unbeaten as champion and offer a much deserved opportunity to build on what she’s done over the last year and take her career in another direction that could lead to bigger and better things.
If she goes in this direction, she could do a couple of things. Hulk Hogan made movies while the champion, often while he was “injured” so that’s always a possibility with her. They claim she has this or that and needs to rehab and she’s off to make movies.
They’ve protected her for most of the last year when fans have been turning on her more and more, so this could be another step in that direction.
The possibilities are nearly endless and it looks like we’ll have to wait to watch tonight to find out.
