Another episode of AEW Dynamite begins! Jake Roberts and Lance Archer come out to open the show. Jake says they were asked out here to apologize. Last week, they pulled a fallen Brandi Rhodes into the ring and laid a snake upon her unconscious form. Jake says he will apologize when Brandi kisses his ass. Says that this ring is his book and they are the authors and they write every single chapter whether you like it or not. Says that to him a woman’s place is not in the ring, it’s at home, cooking and cleaning and wiping babies’ butts. As he starts going on, we hear the revving of an SUV. Then we cut to the front of it, it’s Cody’s truck! Cody drives the SUV right into the arena, ramming through a barrier of some sort!
Jake sends Archer out there but Cody takes the fight to him first with a low blow. He turns towards Jake Roberts and starts advancing but Archer attacks him and sends him right through a table! Roberts says welcome to our world. Cody fights his way up, avoids a shot and sends Archer into the post! Cody grabs a steel chair and throws it into the ring. Archer forces Cody up onto the apron, Cody ducks one shot but falls to the legsweep. However Cody grabs him by the hair and chokes him with his own long dreadlock! Cody enters the ring and grabs the chair as Archer pursues him. Archer avoids a chair shot and nails him, tries for the Blackout but Cody escapes. Looking for a Cody Cutter but Archer sends him face first into the second turnbuckle. Archer wants to keep fighting but Jake Roberts advises him to hold back and they make their leave as Cody stands, fuming in the ring.
We then get a vignette detailing the AEW tag team division. They were probably sitting on this one for a while, most of their tag division has been unavailable in recent weeks. We see the likes of the Young Bucks, Jurassic Express, Private Party, Proud-N-Powerful… special focus is also given to the match the Bucks had with Hangman and Kenny at Revolution which some consider the best tag match of all time. The Dark Order always looming, SCU, Lucha Bros also brought up. It really is quite the tag scene.
