WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Out comes Drew McIntyre for the main event match against Buddy Murphy. Murphy of course has Seth Rollins backing him up.
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Buddy Murphy (Non-title)
Lock-up, Drew shoves Murphy to the floor and he bails for a second. Slips back inside, Drew blocks a kick, spinning back elbow has no effect. Shoulder block, slap across the face, Murphy hits the ropes but McIntyre does as well and plows through him with a big shoulder block! Murphy starts to go up the ramp and asks Rollins for advice. He turns around into a big boot of course. Drew hoists him up and drives him repeatedly into the barricade and apron. McIntyre throws Murphy over the guardrail and into the crowd area before rolling into the ring. Drew dares Seth to step up and be a leader. McIntyre pops Murphy up and drops him onto the stage. Knife edge chop as he pulls him in front of Seth. Headlock, punch to the face, takes him into the ring.
McIntyre stares Seth down to distract himself, Murphy with a baseball slide, drives him into the barricade. Drew wants a powerslam but Murphy escapes behind him and posts him! Murphy up top… awesome Meteora!! Cover, McIntyre powers out, just tossing him off! Murphy keeps up the offense though, snap kicks to the back! But McIntyre is absorbing them and gets up to his feet! Knife edge chop, loud but no sold! Drew repays and his chops are much louder! Avoids a pump knee and hits a huge Glasgow Kiss! McIntyre tells him his leader’s watching him, demands he gets to his feet. Charges but Murphy with a boot up! Goes to the top rope, McIntyre surprises him with an overhead chop that takes him into the barricade! McIntyre goes out just to shove Murphy right back in, up top, Missile Dropkick from the big man! And a kip-up!
Drew pulls Murphy up, hoists him onto his shoulders and climbs up to the middle rope with him! Oh my goodness, trying an Air Raid Crash but Murphy slips out, puts him into position, Cheeky Nandos Kick! And from there, plants him with a Sit-Out Powerbomb! But Drew kicks out at 1?! Murphy stalks in the corner, mocks the 3… 2… 1 – charges and McIntyre clips him with the Claymore! That’s that.
Winner: Drew McIntyre
Good match! I was thinking this could be very fun if it were competitive but that might make Drew look less like the killer he’s been. But they got a good mix here, keeping McIntyre looking invincible even as Murphy took it to him. Afterwards McIntyre demands Seth enter the ring and fight him. Even gets on his knees to invite it. But Seth just turns and walks away and that’s how the show ends… or so I thought but as Drew is celebrating, Seth sneaks up on him and levels him with a superkick! Seth says this is bigger than both of them… sees the WWE Championship and grabs it from the canvas. He stares at it for a bit, goes for the Stomp – but then Drew catches him and takes him down with the Glasgow Kiss! Tries a Claymore but Rollins bails from the ring at the last second and rushes away and THAT’s how the show ends.
