To some, Jim Cornette is a respected legend of wrestling, having been working as a manager since the territory days and being a promoter for companies like Smokey Mountain Wrestling & Ring Of Honor. However to others, he is just a grumpy old man who people would love to see shut out of the wrestling industry forever. He lost his last major role in a company when a racist comment got him removed from the National Wrestling Alliance reboot, and he now focuses purely on his podcast. He recently made a comment about WWE Superstar Dana Brooke, which caught him some serious flack on Twitter once it was brought to her attention.
Jim Cornette Insults The Appearance Of Dana Brooke
While Cornette will often times at-least be witty and rather humorous with his comments, his one directed at Brooke was just mean-spirited. On a recent podcast, he would say that the face of Dana Brooke looks like it was set on fire and put out with an axe.
Twitter user AgentKevin007 would mention this in a thread about Cornette, and it would be picked up by Dana Brooke herself who had the following to say. “Jim Cornette how about you stop hiding behind a keyboard and come say it to my face!! Cause I doubt you would when you see me in person MARKKKKKKK – how about .. STOP SPREADING HATE & spread positivity!”
At the time of writing this, Cornette has not replied to Dana Brooke in a public way, and she has not made any further comments on Cornette.
Cornette Only Gets His Attention Due To His Controversies
This is just another case of Cornette getting himself in trouble thanks to his mouth. While his supporters will never give up on him, it potential burns another plank on the WWE bridge if he ever wanted to get another job there. At the same time, this is the current business model of Jim Cornette and even this article feeds into it. He gets attention by offending fans and wrestlers alike, because while the majority of the attention would be negative, he has a chance to get a few new paying fans in his pocket each and every time.
One of his supporters put it best saying the following in response to Brooke. “You people are marks, Cornette is the 2nd greatest heel manager ever behind Bobby Heenan. He cut a promo and got the attention he wanted, I bet his podcast numbers go up. I’ll be listening like I always do.” However calling his statements a promo would only make sense if Cornette was planning on doing something with Brooke, and many would pay to see her bodyslam him so we could be onto something here.
