Another episode of AEW Dynamite is on tap here this evening and boy is there a lot to talk about for this one. Last week Brodie Lee beat down Jon Moxley and made off with his AEW World Championship aka Big Platinum. This week, Mox is for sure looking to get his title back one way or another. You can expect the same coverage of this show as always, which means in-depth results and recaps, plus a preview of everything that’s on tap tonight. Like I said, lot to discuss so let’s get into it!
Mr. Brodie Lee Is In Possession Of The AEW World Championship And Jon Moxley Wants His Belt Back
Sorry I just had to make that little heading match the text on the graphic. I just love it, it’s sorta ridiculous but also quite accurate and descriptive! Indeed, last week Brodie Lee made his intentions clear. He and the Dark Order jumped Jon Moxley after his match with Frankie Kazarian and even stopped the rest of SCU from making the attempted save. But that wasn’t all, Brodie Lee grabbed the AEW World Championship and at first I thought he was just holding it aloft as a means to hammer home that he’s about to become the champion, something you see pretty frequently in wrestling. But no, he actually went ahead and did something we haven’t seen in American wrestling in a little while – he stole the title! He just up and left with it.
Jon Moxley is always better when he’s angry and with how much he values that title, this seems like a pretty solid way to make him very, very angry. They’re outright advertising that he’s going to be here in hot pursuit of Brodie Lee in an attempt to regain his championship. I’m not sure if he’ll manage it by tonight, but he’ll no doubt be plowing through several faceless Dark Order members in his attempt to get to it. I imagine next week he’ll be facing one of the named ones, perhaps the newly acquired 10, in a singles match… but as for now, I figure Brodie will keep a close hold of the title. He may well have it around his waist as he comes out at Double or Nothing for their actual title match! Moxley will probably have to beat him there if he wants to hold it again.
