In the revival of the National Wrestling Alliance, we saw a few people become stars. These include Tim Storm, Aron Stevens, Question Mark, and Ricky Starks. Ricky Starks in particular seemed primed for huge things, having won the TV Championship at Hard Times in a tournament, knocking off Trevor Murdoch in the finals. He would lose the championship at NWA Powerrr tapings to Zicky Dice. Now is a clean split, Starks is out of the NWA after his contract has expired. What will his next moves look like?
Ricky Starks Could Be Ring Of Honor Bound
It was reported earlier today that Major League Wrestling had locked down the contracts of Richard Holliday and Alex Hammerstone after Ring Of Honor made them offers. This shows that Ring Of Honor is looking for young and talented wrestlers to boost their rosters. Ricky Starks would be perfect for this. He has a great look, loads of charisma, and can handle himself very well in the ring. ROH is no longer the most wrestling focused company in the world, and they need to build around the future of wrestling which would include Starks.
Another thing that would make this a good move is that Ring Of Honor is a bigger stage, but one with close ties to the NWA revival, meaning that Starks could still show up in NWA down the line if he wanted to return for a set of tapings. This option would not be around if he went to a place like Impact Wrestling or All Elite Wrestling. Normally being signed to NXT would be an option, but WWE having just released a ton of their talent from both the main roster and from the performance center, it might be a while before any new batches of talent are signed.
Starks has proven that he can be a show stealing talent during his time in NWA, being one of the biggest stars built in the companies short revival. Anywhere he goes as a free agent, he will find his way to the top in due time. Where would you want to see Ricky Starks pop up in wrestling? Who are some names you’d like to see him face?
