WWE Monday Night Raw rolls on. Shayna Baszler backstage is interviewed about Becky Lynch’s pregnancy announcement for some silly reason. This is a pretty big series of burns here. She asks how stupid you have to be to get knocked up as champion. She became the longest reigning RAW Women’s champion just to have her reign end like this? Shayna says 10 out of 10 mothers will try to convince you it didn’t ruin their career. Asks if you can imagine the Man fat and barefoot in a kitchen. Claims that the baby will for sure be a loser, just look at who the father is. Kind of incredible stuff really. We then get a look at the Undertaker: Last Ride documentary, which is much hyped. In a part of backstage AJ Styles was watching along but seems furious over it, throwing popcorn at the screen and scampering away. Then, out comes Rey Mysterio. He and Aleister Black will face off with Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy.
Before the match starts we see a clip of Becky and Vince hugging in silence, there was no audio by mistake. Seth looks particularly despondent and his hair is all a-frazzle.
Rey Mysterio & Aleister Black vs. Seth Rollins & Murphy
Murphy starts out the match because Seth is unresponsive. He starts with Aleister. Murphy with an arm wringer takedown. Pulls Aleister up and asks Seth for a tag but gets no reaction. Black pulls him back in and gets a quick Octopus Stretch in before nailing a deep Japanese Arm Drag. Tag to Rey, Murphy fighting out but gets taken down with an enziguri/legsweep combo, Rey with a basement dropkick for a 2 count. Murphy fights back, whips Rey to the ropes, Mysterio trying for a Tilt-A-Whirl DDT but Murphy blocks it. Throws Rey away but Black tags in and gets Murphy with a big roundhouse kick to the chest.
Murphy tries to throw Black out of the ring and calls out to Seth but Black rebounded back into the ring. Springboard Moonsault, Murphy avoids it but Black lands on his feet and then goes to a cross-legged position to mock him. Murphy with a back elbow, still looking to Seth. Hits the ropes, Black nails Murphy with a Kitchen Sink knee! Black with a hammerlock. Murphy fights his way up, combination of strikes, Black ducks a shot, feigns a punch before nailing him in the face with a knee and it sends Murphy to the floor! Seth is just staring blankly forward not even glancing at Murphy or Black. But then Aleister takes Murphy to the apron and he and Seth lock eyes for a moment. Black tries for a shoulder thrust but Murphy avoids it and nails him in the side of the head with a dropkick. Commercial break.
As we come back, Black drives Murphy into the corner. Murphy kicks him away, leaps from the second rope but a big boot out of the air takes him down! Rey with a seated senton as he tags in, Springboard Crossbody! Leg kicks, sunset flip sets Murphy up for a swinging kick to the head! Murphy rolls from the ring, Mysterio with a running flying headscissors taking Murphy into the barrier! Throws him back into the ring. Rey stares Seth down as he slowly goes up top. Tries for a crossbody but Murphy rolls through for a 2 count. Murphy’s Law attempted, Rey with a Wheelbarrow Facebuster to counter, nearfall! Rey takes Murphy over to the heel corner, takes a moment to attack Seth and send him off the apron, drop toe hold takes Murphy to the middle rope and he tries for a 619 – Seth blocks it and yanks him to the floor and that… is a DQ.
Winners: Rey Mysterio & Aleister Black (by DQ)
I… honestly? That DQ makes the Lashley one from last week seem fair.
Seth attacks the eye of Rey Mysterio afterwards, hollers at Murphy to stay back when he approaches. Seth drives Rey’s into the edge of the steel steps, yelling “It’s not your fault Rey!” as he does, and after a few moments of grinding he starts to bleed from his eye! Medics come in and tend to Rey, needing to take his mask off under a cloth to do it. We fade to commercial just hearing Rey’s pained moans whilst Seth looks on, emotionless.
