Last week on NXT, it became incredibly clear that Shotzi Blackheart is set for huge things in NXT. This came after she had a hype package where she was crushing cars in a tank, something that has to be seen to believe. The wild child of NXT would start her war once again, as she would face Raquel Gonzalez this week on NXT. Gonzalez of course had Dakota Kai in her corner for this match, with Shotzi riding solo.
Shotzi Blackheart Does Not Fear Raquel Gonzalez
The size advantage of Gonzalez would come into play quick, as she effortlessly shoved Blackheart into ropes moments into the match. The referee would call for a clean break, but Blackheart would send a forearm to the chest, showing no fear as Gonzalez stared her down. Gonzalez would go after Blackheart, only to be grabbed from behind, but Gonzalez would grab the arm and pull Blackheart in for some shoulder tackles.
Maintaining wrist control would be a mistake, as Blackheart would use her knees to attack the arm, before grabbing the other and kicking upward from the mat as Gonzalez was unable to defend herself from the barrage. She would look to turn this into a roll-up, but the power of Gonzalez would instead come into play with Blackheart being hoisted up and nearly sent face first into the mat. Blackheart instead landed on her feet, and countered an oncoming lariat with a stiff kick to the arm.
Trying to use the ropes for momenteum, Blackheart would look for a hurricarana but would be unable to complete the move, being stopped halfway and nearly powerbombed. She would slip off the shoulders and look for a sunset flip type pin, would be pulled up by her head. You would think after months of matches, people would realize that roll-ups without distractions simply do not work on Raquel Gonzalez. Blackheart would remain in control however, after dodging an elbow drop. Some hard strikes including a question mark kick and an enzuguri would send Gonzalez to the middle rope.
Tegan Nox Comes To Even The Odds For Blackheart
Dakota Kai would help Gonzalez dodge what came next, leaving Blackheart hung up on the middle rope before being send headfirst into the canvas before having the elbow dropped on her. Kai would then hijack the small tank that Blackheart uses for her entrance, and look to tear it apart before Tegan Nox, back from her pizza delivery job, would shove Kai to the ground. This fight on the outside would distract Gonzalez, finally letting Blackheart roll her up for a two count. A big boot would drop Blackheart once Gonzalez was vertical.
Now with the support of Nox at ringside, Blackheart would find herself on the business end of a powerslam, before being locked in a bearhug. She would briefly escape, only to be hit by a backbreaker for a near fall. Blackheart would regain control after sending Gonzalez throat first into the middle rope, then hitting a running senton. Gonzalez would flee to the outside, only for Blackheart to dive onto both her & Kai. Tegam Nox would look to help Blackheart back to her feet, only for Candice LeRae to appear out of nowhere to add more to this match. They would argue at ringside distracting the referee, allowing Kai & Gonzalez to double team Blackheart, leading to Raquel Gonzalez leaving with a win.
There was a very good match within this mess of interruptions for the NXT Women’s division, making this the best showing for Raquel Gonzalez yet in her tenure with NXT. How do you see these five women working out their issues? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
