CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers here with some fun throwback spoilers for Y&R’s Romance Week. This has been one of our favorite theme weeks as we’ve gotten to see some romances we hadn’t before, as well as some heartbreaking moments to round things out.
This episode originally aired December 30, 2010 and features one of our favorite couples. While Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) are far from a power couple, they bring an energy and entertainment value rarely seen with other couples. When they’re together, there’s an air of unpredictability as we never know what they’ll say or do. From good-natured ribbing to flat out confrontations, they’re a fun couple that adds to our reasons for tuning in every day.
This episode is special for its cheesiness and heartfelt emotions as Chloe and Kevin profess their love for each other, making their push from being just friends a fun and relatable story.

Nothing like heartfelt confusion
Chloe and Kevin have had feelings for one another for a while, but neither one understands that simple fact. To be fair, most of us are oblivious (ie stupid) when it comes to these moments ourselves. Outside forces always see what’s going on, and it’s up to them to convince us of what we’re unable to see.
This was something that came out little by little over time until Chloe decided to ask Kevin if he wanted to go to Jimmy’s to celebrate the new year, but he declined. There were two reasons. The first, she surprised him as he didn’t think she was interested, and second, she said they were still friends and she enjoyed spending time with him.
In short, they were both confused with how to proceed, and she managed to confuse him even more. He then got a wee bit testy and responded with some indignation as he doesn’t want to be her sidekick.

Truthful hearts
Above we mentioned how we often need a push or swift kick to realize we’re not seeing another’s affections right. Kevin and Chloe each had their epiphanies, thanks mainly to those around them for listening, and sharing their opinions. Still, it took some self-reflection for them to figure things out.
Chloe was the first, as she sat in her pajamas eating ice cream. She then sought out Kevin because she had to talk to him before midnight.
Kevin’s date went belly up because he couldn’t stop talking about Chloe.
As is often the case, the pair met up in the middle of the street, and yes, Chloe was still in her pajamas.
After a brief exchange, the two admitted their feelings for one another and kissed.
