Just when it didn’t seem like things could get any worse for oVe (Ohio Versus Everything). First, Sami Callihan left in April when they came to his aid against Ken Shamrock. Then, Madman Fulton quit after he attacked Jake and Dave Crist following Dave losing to Crazy Steve. Now, Joseph P. Ryan recruited Jake Crist following Ryan’s victory over Crazy Steve.
Now that Dave Crist is alone, what’s next?

One rises
Though only a couple of months old, Cancel Culture has made some waves in Impact, as a cleaned and pressed Joseph P. Ryan, formerly Joey Ryan, and RVD (Rob Van Dam) decided to clean up Impact. Katie Forbes, RVD’s girlfriend, rounded out their trio, as she is now remaining fully clothed.
But with RVD not on their broadcast the last few weeks, Ryan has looked to add more members to his growing faction. To that end, he had both Crist brothers in his corners when he faced Crazy Steve.
Following his win, thanks to the Crists’ interference, Ryan asked the Crists if they wanted to join Cancel Cuture. Jake was all for it, while Dave was hesitant. This led Ryan to single out Jake and claim he has to make a sacrifice to prove he was ready.
Dave asked if Jake was sure he wanted to do this, and in response, Jake hit him with a spinning heel kick. With Dave taken care of, Jake officially joined Cancel Culture.
One falls
While this marks the apparent end of oVe, there is a chance it’ll rise from the ashes, but in what form?
Sami Callihan is in a feud with Michael Elgin, who is in a feud with Ken Shamrock. This looks is an awesome triple threat match just waiting to happen, so there’s little to no chance of Dave rejoining Callihan, but maybe with Elgin to face Callihan and Shamrock? It’d make sense if he’s looking for a strong personality to follow, but beyond that grasping at a straw, it’s doubtful.
What does makes sense, and this is only our speculation, is that Dave Crist is going to get a good push as he branches off into a singles career. This is his opportunity to show what he can do now that he’s out of Callihan’s shadow. The question is, what direction with he take character-wise.
He may remain as part of oVe, treasuring being the sole standard bearer, and possibly face off with his brother and Ryan after being betrayed. This would open up the chance for him to become edgier, more sturdy and dangerous as a face (like we ever expected to see that) as he takes on Cancel Culture.
It would present a tried and true brother versus brother angle as he tries to overthrow Ryan and regain some sense of himself.
While his past indicates he may be better as part of a group, it doesn’t mean going solo wouldn’t work. Of course, it could just be a temporary storyline as a connection to an upcoming story. Looks like we’ll have to wait to find out.
