AEW Dynamite continues. We then see a video of Britt Baker rolling down the road to recovery. She’s literally pulling weights behind her attached to the wheelchair and doing conditioning drills as she sits there. This also includes the scene of her being pushed which is more of a running scene for her assistant. She ignores what Dox Sampson has to say and throws it in his face. Tony Schiavone cheers her on as she wheels her way up the stairs somehow? Also tonight Britt’s in a “Role’s Royce”. She watches on as Big Swole comes out for her bout with Nyla Rose.
Big Swole vs. Nyla Rose
Swole with a waistlock. Rose throws some elbows but Swole avoids them, transition to a side headlock. Rose whips her, Swole ducks a shot and gets another headlock in. Battering elbows, wants a takedown but Nyla’s blocking it. Nyla starts hoisting her up but Swole turns this into the side headlock takedown, finally gets it! Pulls her up, transition to a roll-up for 2! Hits the ropes, tries a shoulder block but it fails to get her down twice. Nyla grabs for the hair, but Swole slips behind her and gets an Abdominal Stretch cinched in! Nyla tries to counter this with a hip toss, Swole actually blocks this, Swole looks for the same, but this time Nyla hits the Hip Toss! Swole low bridges Nyla and Rose slams her back into the apron on the way down! Blocks a running punt from the apron, clips her and sends her barreling into the apron! Throws her into the ring and then confronts some folks in the front row. Commercial break.
We come back to see Rose hit Swole with a backbreaker, holding her over her knee. Hits the ropes for a running frog splash, Swole with the knees up! Forearms to the face, slaps, Rose avoids one roundhouse kick but eats the second, and a big headbutt staggers her into the corner! Charging uppercut, charges again but gets sent to the apron but this sets up a Springing Cutter for a nearfall! Swole with a series of elbows, back fist to the face! Hard shots. Charges, Rose evades, but Swole avoids an avalanche shot, pump kick for a cloooose nearfall! Tries for the cutter again but Rose blocks it, wants a suplex but Swole escapes behind her, chop block and a driving knee to the back of the head! Hits the ropes but Rose springs up and drives through her with a spear! Looking for the Beast Bomb but Swole counters with a sunset flip for another 2.9 kickout, geeze! Kick to the head, pulls Rose up, looks for Dirty Dancing but Rose counters with a Sit-Out Spinebuster for the win!
Winner: Nyla Rose
Neat stuff, particularly at the end there. Rose likely won’t stay out of the title picture for very long.
Afterwards we see an interview with Tony Schiavone talking to Swole about her return. Swole says even though she wasn’t victorious today it’s great to be back and the fans are behind her. Britt Baker interrupts and asks to be driven up to the barricade and yells at her for whatever reason. Swole takes up a chair and starts going over the barricade as Baker tells her she can’t go after her since she’s injured! Has the Role’s Royce pull away.
