AEW Dynamite rolls on. The Natural Nightmares backstage are told that they’re getting an AEW World Tag Team title match next week, as they’re unbeaten as a team. But Brandi is upset to see Allie wearing the Nightmare Family jacket. QT explains that she’s part of the family. Dustin says he’s been a tag champ plenty of times before and he knows he needs his partner’s head in the game. He says Allie won’t be with them next week. We now have some women’s division action as Penelope Ford teams up with Nyla Rose to take on Kris Statlander and the champ herself Hikaru Shida!
Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander vs. Nyla Rose & Penelope Ford
The brawl begins at the bell as they knock each other around. As the ring settles, we have Statlander and Rose on the inside, Kris with a big spear! Short dropkick to the head for a 1 count! Slams her into the face corner, tag to Shida for a charging forearm. Quick tags ensue, uppercut, charging big boot from Hikaru, Statlander up top but side-steps a splash attempt! Nyla flips her over with a lariat! Cover for a 2 count! Pulls her up, scoop and a slam into a legdrop! Commercial break.
We come back to see Rose holding Kris down with an arm stretch, Kris fights her way up, front flips into a pele kick! Nicely done. Tags to Shida and Ford, Ford ducks a clothesline and gets a kick, sends Shida to the corner and places her up top, running knee to the abdomen! Takes her out onto the apron, running knee lift to the face! Shida going up top now! Missile Dropkick lands flush! Hoists her up for a Vertical Suplex for a 2 count! Tag to Statlander, they each pull her up, double backbreaker! And a wicked knee to the back, Statlander with a Standing Moonsault for 2! Kris wants a suplex, Ford with a knee to the face and reverses into a DDT for a 2 count!
Tag to Rose. Nyla hoists her up, Statlander escapes and there’s a roundhouse kick! Penelope into the ring, Matrix Dodge into a Stunner! But Shida gets her with a high knee, and gets Rose up top for a superplex! Statlander with a Scissors Kick for a clooose nearfall! Shida tags in, wants the Falcon Arrow but Rose hoists her up and hangs her on the top rope! Kris comes in, but Nyla drapes her as well! Rose hops up top, NAILS THEM BOTH WITH THE FLYING KNEE DROP! Dayam! She kicks Statlander out of the ring, tag to Ford! Nyla hoists her up, they want a Powerbomb/Springboard double team but Kris pulls Ford to the floor, Shida escapes and hits a high knee that sends Rose to the floor, Ford into the ring and there’s a Falcon Arrow – but she kicks out! Hikaru hits the ropes, Sabian grabs the ankle but eats a suicide dive from Statlander! Rose tosses the Women’s title into the ring and Ford catches it to nail Shida with it! Fisherwoman’s Suplex and a bridge, Ford pins the champ!
Winner: Penelope Ford & Nyla Rose
Quite the interesting result there, another big upset for Ford and it will definitely lead to a title match down the road.
