Shane Thorne is becoming a frequent flyer on Main Event, but has yet to win a singles match since coming up from NXT alongside Brendan Vink. Tonight he looks to change that as he faces the Lucha Libre sensation that is Humberto Carillo. Would the ‘Aussie Action Hero’ finally get a win?
Shane Thorne Has Something To Prove
Things would start quick with a lockup, with the technically gifted Thorne getting Carillo on the mat. As they traded holds, Tom Phillips would explain there is some animosty between these two, as Thorne felt disrespected that Carillo came into WWE after him, yet already got more oppurtunities than he ever had. Because of this, Thorne would be extra motivated to leave this one with the win.
Thorne would show his brawling style, but would be forced to pick up the pace as Carillo ran circles around him and hit a huge springboard crossbody followed by an incredibly impressive armdrag, sending Thorne across the ring and to the outside. Carillo would look to follow up with a baseball slide, but Thorne dodged and got back into the ring. A slap across the face would be followed by a springboard attempt, with Carillo left hanging over the top rope. He’d roll into the corner, and be hit with the huge cannonball Thorne is known for, which MVP called nastier than a vegemite sandwhich .
Humberto Carillo Makes The Comeback
Carillo would try to fight his way out of the corner following this, but end up with a boot to his face as he was downed. A PK to the back would give Thorne a quick pin attempt, before applying a neck crank. Carillo would fight out only to be hit with a dropkick and sent back to the mat, but an impressive kick to the head would drop Thorne and finally give Carillo a chance to get back into this.
Thorne would rush into a boot in the corner, but would send Carillo over the top rope. Another kick to head would stagger him, and allow Carillo to hit a missle dropkick. This would but him in position for the moonsault from Carillo, and that would end the match.
Another week, another loss for Thorne. His partner in crime Vink has been missing as well. Things are not looking good for him, as he quickly becomes an afterthought in WWE. Do you think Thorne will find his way soon? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
