We start out with a montage of Undertaker entrances and career moments, starting with his debut where Ted DiBiase introduced him.
“This time the cowboy really does ride away.” – Mark Caloway (The Undertaker)
The superstars are on the entrance ramp clapping and chanting “Thank you Taker.”
We’re going to hear from Edge, Bautista, Roman Reigns, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, John Cena Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, and Mick Foley.
We’re taken back to November 22, 1990 to witness some highlights of his dominating WWE debut.
John Cena and Roman Reigns talk about the Undertaker’s passion, and how he is the bar of respect for wrestlers. He always came out and performed his best, and as long as we believe, the Undertaker will be the Undertaker.
Boneyard Match
The cinematic moment begins with the Undertakers music playing as a black hearse pulling into a graveyard. Hooded figures get out and open the back and pull out a coffin to reveal… AJ Styles.
Styles mocks the setting and calls out the Undertaker.
The Undertaker arrives to Metallica’s Now That We’re Dead and as his American Badass persona.
Styles continues mocking the Undertaker, asking if his wife, Michelle McCool, lets him out this late.
The fight starts and is decidedly one sided as it’s a brawl. The Undertaker sounds like a bada$$ biker as he talks trash and puts Styles through the hearse’s front window.
Edge, Christian, and Bret Hart Insight
We return from the commercial break and Edge and Christian share their thoughts on how the Undertaker was larger than life and the mood in the arena changed when the opening gong on his music hit. He caught lighting in a bottle for 30 years.
Bret Hart talked about how he delivered every time, and he always raised the bar.
Boneyard Match continued
The Undertaker continued to dominate, but Style turned the tide with a kick below the belt.
Styles’ run didn’t last long, and the Undertaker knocked him into the grave Styles had dug for him.
Gallows and Anderson arrived along with six or so dark robed individuals and they attacked. Taker held his own with the druids until Gallows and Anderson jumped him.
The OC was on point as they bludgeoned the Undertaker, but he overwhelmed them before Styles hit him from behind with a sheet of rock.
Styles hurt his hand punching the Undertaker, and kept telling him to get up, and when he Styles tackled him through a fence.
Brother of Destruction and Nature Boy
Kane said he’s the greatest character in the history or the company and Ric Flair on how he was a whole new deal. They talked about his size and athleticism, and how he’d leap over the ropes when guys his size didn’t do that. Flair believes he’s the greatest character in the history of the business.
Boneyard Match Continues
We return to the Boneyard Match where Taker hurting and Styles continues telling him he doesn’t have it anymore. The Undertaker flipped him off and invited Styles to do more.
Styles obliged him, calling him a “Broken down old bitch” and that he was doing the world a favor by burying him. Style then hit him on the back with a shovel and sent Taker into the hole. Styles then climbed into the tractor to dump the dirt on him and fill the grave.
As he started the tractor, light appeared behind him and the Undertaker stepped out of it refreshed and commenced with beating a confused and terrified Styles.
Styles ran to a ladder to get to the roof of the barn, and Taker followed him. With a raise of Taker’s hands, fire exploded behind Styles, forcing him to face Taker. Gallows and Anderson attacked again, but Taker had little trouble dealing with them as he threw Anderson off the roof, and Tombestoned Gallows on the tin roof.
The Undertaker chokeslammed Styles off the roof and onto part of a wooden wall that had fallen over.
Styles is trying to crawl away, and Taker helps him up and slings him over his shoulder to carry him to the hold, telling Styles he was a lot tougher than Taker gave him credit for.
Styles begged for him not to bury him and said he was sorry, and told him to go out like a man. “You just fought your ass off.” He hugged Styles and said he wasn’t going to hurt him and turned away.
Taker then turned and knocked and unconscious Styles into the grave with a big boot.
Taker then started the tractor and dumped the dirt into the hole, burying Styles. Only Style’s hand is sticking up. A tombstone by the grave read “AJ Styles, Rest in Peace, 1977-2020” to close out the match.
Victorious, Taker’s old music played as he got back on his Harley, and rode off. But first, he paused to raise his hand in victory and pyrotechnics went off on the roof of the barn and the Undertaker’s Cross was emblazoned in purple.
It was awesome seeing this match again, and it’s a great way to start the night off.
