Just a few short months ago, Andrade was on top of the world in WWE. Alongside Zelina Vega, Angel Garza, and Austin Theory, they were practically running Monday Night RAW. Andrade was the reigning United States Champion, and with the backup he had, wasn’t losing it anytime soon. However, things have fallen fast for Andrade, to the point where many are wondering if his time in the spotlight on Monday Night RAW is over.
Andrade Lost The United States Championship To Apollo Crews
After Angel Garza & Andrade kicked Austin Theory out of their group, and cracks would form with Garza as well; Andrade would fall to Apollo Crews and his reign as United States Champion would end at 151 days. He would try to reclaim it during the pre-show of Backlash, but would fail. While him being shot into a feud with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre wasn’t out of the question after this loss, instead he’d appear on WWE Main Event in a match with Ricochet. Main Event might have some consistently great matches, but it’s a low place to be featured in WWE, and Andrade is the biggest name to show up there in recent months.
The Flair Connection Could Save Him
While right now, Andrades relationship with Charlotte Flair is still behind the scenes, he does call The Queen his fiancee at the end of the day. This essentially puts him in line with wrestling royality. With Ric Flair back on TV, currently aligned with Randy Orton, we could see a new Evolution-esque stable be built. Sticking somoene like Andrade with Orton & Flair would only serve to boost his status in the long run. It would also open Zelina Vega to work with Angel Garza, as this would likely have Flair take over her role with Andrade.
This could also open Andrade up to use the Figure-Four Leglock as a finishing move, something to supplement his Hammerlock DDT and help him win matches. It’s been a trend that his opponents end up hurting their legs during his match, and he showed great limb targetting in his recent match with Ricochet, when he focused on the left knee for the bulk of the match.
Andrade is not doing great in WWE at this exact amount, but raw talent, youth, and strong connections will ensure he’s back in the spotlight before we know it. Do you think Andrade’s future is still bright within WWE?
