Deonna Purrazzo made quite the splash when she returned to Impact Wrestling, and spent the two months since displaying how quick she can strike by attacking Knockouts Champions Jordynne Grace on multiple occasions and slapping her into a submission hold before Grace knew what was happening.
Lost in all of that was when she squashed Alisha Edwards on her in-ring debut, displaying that she’s more than simply an ambush predator. Her single-minded determination to be in Impact not to simply brawl but to win championships has given the Knockouts division a serious boost on top of the amazing talent that’s been added.
The only problem with her plan is Jordynne Grace isn’t just prepared, she’s a wee bit fired up to get her hands on the Virtuoso more than simply planting her face in a table like she did at their contract signing.
It’s good to be ambitious, but that same ambition can lead to some painful reminders of what one stirs up.
No ordinary championship

Jordynne Grace ended Taya Valkyrie’s record-setting reign as Knockouts champion, and that’s no small feat. Sure there will always be detractors that point out the Knockouts division wasn’t what it is now, that it lacked depth, and they’re not wrong in that aspect. But Grace did what those already on the roster had failed to do, and she brings a physicality that’s both brutal and efficient.
There’s no questioning the toughness of any of the Knockouts, but Grace has taken it to another level.
What’s more, we don’t only get to see two of the top stars in professional wrestling do their thing, but we could also be seeing the match that’ll steal the show.
This isn’t a false promise or anything like that as we firmly believe it’s possible. The hype leading tot his match has been up there but also quiet. It’s been treated like it’s expected to be awesome and allowed to fly under the radar, if that makes any sense.
So often we’ve seen matches that were hyped to the point that it was humanly impossible to live up to them, but when they’re ignored or hyped a little more than average, they can sneak up on us and become something special.
In this case, Grace and Purrazzo have vastly different styles that should mesh beautifully in the ring and give us something to remember. As for a winner, as much hype that’s been put behind the Virtuosa, it’s difficult seeing Purrazzo win the Knockouts championship her first time out.
We see this being a great match with a double disqualification our count out, something along those lines. That way neither of the women are hurt character-wise and can continue their feud or go in separate directions.
