Right now on NXT, one of the best parts of the show is the power couple of NXT. This is Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae, who while married outside of the ring, are having their biggest onscreen run together right now. This mainly manifested in a feud with Keith Lee & Mia Yim, but there is more ground they will be able to cover.
However, theres a deeper reason as to why they chose to have this type of run now, and that’s because Candice LeRae is expecting to take some time off before long. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch might not have the most naturally gifted wrestling child after all.
Baby Gargano Was Always Going To Come
During an interview with ComicBook.com, Johnny Gargano would be asked how he’s enjoying his current role in NXT. He’d have the following to say.
“So much fun. It’s so cool to be able to work together and we’ve always wanted to work together. And we’ve always wanted a chance to kind of just be together on screen ’cause we haven’t had that yet. Obviously, the way things are going. And with life in general, eventually we’re going to have a baby. And the way that works out is Candice won’t be able to wrestle for a long time when she has the baby. So we wanted to take this opportunity to actually get a chance to work together, be on-screen together, and if we don’t get a chance again, and we want to make the most of it.”
Considering they’ve become one of the best parts of the show, they have absolutely made the most of this chance. They’ve shined as bright as ever, and it could be what finally brings Candice LeRae to her first title win in WWE, meaning the Gargano Family will have held all the major titles in NXT.
Johnny Gargano Is Entering A Feud With Roderick Strong
After being two thirds of an excellent triple threat match with Bronson Reed, Gargano & Roderick Strong are entering what could be an epic singles feud. They will meet tomorrow evening on NXT, but there is more potential here. Strong’s wife, Marina Shafir is part of the NXT Women’s division, often teaming with Jessamyn Duke. Since Shayna Baszler left NXT, they haven’t been around.
This would be a good way to keep the ‘Power Couple of NXT’ storyline going for a bit longer, and give us some more of those lovely kitchen table promos.
