The RAW Women’s division is looking as sparse as ever these days, to the point where Sasha Banks from Smackdown is going for the brands championship. Shayna Baszler is missing in action, Kairi Sane is leaving WWE when her contract is done, and Asuka has already beaten both Charlotte Flair & Nia Jax, the two biggest contenders. WWE could build up Natalya, Liv Morgan, or Ruby Riott as contenders, or remember Bianca Belair exists. However, there is another talent on the roster who would be a quick contender, this being Mickie James, who was cleared to compete again just before COVID-19 hit.
Mickie James Was Just Weeks Away From Returning To The Ring
A torn ACL on a house show would sideline her just as she tried to get the title ‘Monday Night MILF’ over on Twitter after being moved to Monday Night RAW. She would be moved to commentary for WWE Main Event, which makes sense why many likely forgot about her.
“The doc had already cleared me, so I was literally just getting that last two weeks to get cleared to come back to in-ring action and everything got shut down, So, I went home and I just haven’t been back since.” she would tell Chris Van Vliet interview. “Theres no need to take that risk of going there if I’m not doing anything, I would rather bide my time and wait for the perfect opportunity.”is what she had to say about going to the WWE Performance Center at this time.
Mickie James Has Taken Asuka To The Limit In The Past
When she comes back, she’s going for gold, and she’s ready for Asuka, and everyone else. “I’m going to go in and take all the championships, I’m going to be my own tag team partner and I’m going to go in there and take those championships first, and then I’m going to take both of the women’s championships at the same time.”
In her return match to WWE, Mickie James would show up in NXT during Asukas monster title reign. In a match originally intended for James greatest rivals in Trish Stratus, James would show just how good she still is, and take Asuka at her best to the limit. She wouldn’t win, but it wouldn’t be long before she had a fresh new WWE contract, and she’s still there today.
