This past episode of NXT saw the biggest main event in the brands history. Keith Lee faced Adam Cole in an epic clash, with both the NXT North American & NXT Championships on the line. In the end, Adam Cole could not stop Keith Lee, and his attempt at the Panama Sunrise would be countered, and his reign would be ended at 403 days. It was a major moment, and afterwards one of Keith Lee greatest rivals came out to celebrate with him, this being Dominic Dijakovic.
Their matches are have always thrilled crowds, but they have also teamed up on a few occassions. The biggest was at WarGames, where they joined Tommasao Ciampa & Kevin Owens to defeat Undisputed Era. They also teamed back in Pro Wrestling Guerrlia as ‘The Mon-Stars’ to face Matt Riddle & Jeff Cobb. Their size, power, and chemistry make them a deadly duo. Keith Lee has room for one more title, he is limitless afterall.
Imperium Lacks Challengers
The current NXT Tag Team Champions, Imperium members Marcel Bartel and Fabian Aichner are an incredible team, but they were absent from The Great American Bash, having not defended their titles or even made an apperence on the show. This makes them the only champions in NXT to not show up, as Io Shirai & Santos Escobar were in non-title matches.
This is because the tag team division is at it’s weakest. The only established teams around are The Undisputed Era, who could be on their way out, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, and Breezango. This means it’s the perfect time for Lee & Dijakovic to make one final moment together on NXT.
Dominic Dijakovic Is On His Way Out Of NXT
If reports are to believed, we might have already seen Dijakovics final on-screen match for the brand. He lost a match to Johnny Gargano on the build to Gargano facing Lee for the NXT North American Championship. This was a great match, and a fine way to end his NXT run. But as Lee defined it, he should be more directly involved.
This would be a huge title match for NXT to promote, and not a hard one for Lee to lose. He has Karrion Kross breathing down his neck, and the tag team chemistry of Imperium would make them pinning Dijakovic very believable.
It would simply be a nice final moment for one of the best rivalaries in recent history. Plus who doesn’t love a good tag match? Should Keith Lee & Dominic Dijakovic go for the NXT Tag Team Championships? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
