The Summer Struggle 2020 tour continued on Wednesday when New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) held its first non-streaming event since returning from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) delay.

The event held in Act City Hamamatsu hosted 599 as NJPW continues its social distancing and mandatory mask-wearing policy, which calls for a reduced number of tickets being made available to fans.

The opening match saw CHAOS members Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, and Yoshi-Hashi defeat the Hontai team of Satoshi Kojima, Ryusuke Taguchi, Tomoaki Honma, and NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo Young Lion Gabriel Kidd when Yoshi-Hashi submitted Kidd with his Butterfly Lock technique at the 10 minute and 24-second mark.

The second match saw Los Ingobernables de Japon members NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi and Sanada defeat Togi Makabe and NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yota Tsuji when Sanada submitted Tsuji with the standing version of his Skull End technique at the 9 minute and 29-second mark.

The third match saw Suzuki-Gun members Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado defeat Yuji Nagata and NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yuya Uemura after Desperado hit Uemura with the Pinche Loco at the 12 minute and 2-second mark.

Yuji Nagata and Minoru Suzuki meet in the marquee match of the August 31st Summer Struggle 2020 event, in a highly anticipated match after their 2020 New Japan Cup match during the first-round.

The fourth match saw the Hontai team of Golden Ace (Hiroshi Tanahashi/Kota Ibushi), Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Master Wato defeat the Suzuki-Gun team of IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi), Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and Douki when Ibushi defeated Douki with the Kamigoye technique at the 10 minute and 55-second mark.

In the headline Bullet Club members, Yujiro Takahashi and Gedo defeated CHAOS members Kazuchika Okada and Show after Yujiro hit his Pimp Juice technique at the 10 minute and 58-second mark.

The marquee match saw IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ Evil and upcoming IWGP Junior Heavyweight v2 challenger at Summer Struggle in Jingu, Taiji Ishimori defeat LIJ members Tetsuya Naito and Bushi at the 11 minute and 25-second mark after Evil pinned Bushi with his Evil technique.
