Now that we have a bit more information about what happened between him and AEW. over an interview with Cody Rhodes saying that AEW and him did talk but it never got to the serious stages. That means that what CM Punk said about a text might have been slightly wrong. Although he did mention they do have a good relationship and it may happen at some point. The money did get mentioned, although Cody did say that CM Punk is worth a large amount, so who knows what is going to happen there. It should be noted that AEW does have Colt Cabana on their roster, not sure if that would affect CM Punk joining AEW.
Where would CM Punk fit best these days?
Now that his relationship seems to be healed with WWE. It wouldn’t be that surprising if he joined their roster once more. Weirdly enough, it doesn’t feel like he would fit there anymore. There are other options now but he doesn’t seem the right fit for Impact or ROH these days. If not WWE, it seems very likely that it would be AEW, especially now that they have formed a kind of relationship for the future.
Are we actually ever going to see it?
Even he has mentioned that he lost the passion for it. That does kind of feel that way as it started to seem like he does what he does for money. This seems more true with his role on Backstage Pass. Even though that is now over and he can technically turn up anywhere. It feels like he would only turn up for the money. Although that could jump start his passion again for the sport.
