WWE Raw will be the cleanup site of one of the more questionable (let’s just say dumb) storylines in recent memory where Bayley donned a referee shirt to count Sasha Banks’ pin of Asuka at Extreme Rules.
Because of that, Bayley and Banks took off with Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship. When confronted on last week’s Raw, Stephanie McMahon put this match together.
Since Bayley’s not an official it should’ve been cut and dry, but this is the WWE’s idea of drama and we expect it to get deep.
To ensure the true champion wins, since Asuka being the champion wasn’t enough for the McMahons, they face each other with rules similar to what Drew McIntyre faced at Extreme Rules.
In short, the title can be lost through disqualification, interference, count out, submission, or pinfall. Basically, the usual plus any dastardly deed Bayley and Banks are known for.
By all rights, Asuka should win this, right?
Not so fast.

Banks takes the gold
This isn’t the popular choice, and that’s why we expect Sasha Banks to win the Raw Women’s Championship on WWE Raw.
This will stir up tons more controversy for her and Bayley, and continue to postpone the Bayley-Banks match that was originally rumored for WrestleMania 36.
To be fair, Banks and Bayley are the top two female wrestlers in the promotion with Asuka right there, arguably making it a threesome.
This will infuriate fans, and WWE Creative (Vince McMahon) will expect said heat to fall onto Banks. While logical, fans have grown exceptionally tired of these half-baked storylines and ideas and may not do as expected.
Also, there’s the problem of Banks being happy and content after this, and we want her jealousy to continue to grow over Bayley’s championship and get he feud going between the Golden Role Models.
Other competitors
While there are plenty of others on WWE Raw that could challenge Banks, including former champion Natalya and Bianca Belair, Ruby Riott, and so on, none of them have been built up to the level they need to be to challenge Banks.
As great as she is, Riott is in a feud with the iiconics that seems destined to win when she and Live Morgan rejoin and take them out.
Belair would be a perfect option given her awesomeness in NXT has carried over to WWE Raw in her brief appearance.
Natalya would be another great choice, but she hasn’t been on WWE TV for several weeks and there’s no word when we can expect her back.
Asuka would make a great fighting champion and help lift the others to the level where they can challenge her. Banks will be another Bayley, and we’ll be ho-humming he opposition until Charlotte Flair comes back.
