Just when it appeared Zelina Vega had them working as a team, Andrade and Angel Garza turned on each other on last week’s WWE Raw. Garza couldn’t have picked a better time to send a message as he left Andrade along with the Big Show.
With their constant back and forths the last few weeks, this has to be the one that finally forces a split between them. We don’t see Andrade wanting to be around Garza, much less trust him no matter what Vega says to him.
Of course, this would mean the pair would turn their attention to the reason for their split: Zelina Vega.
Vega worked wonders putting this team together, but with their friction starting when she was injured a few weeks back and only growing since, there will be a tough decision for her to make in the near future.
Past with Andrade
While this is the type of angle that’s been used many times before, it’d most likely focus on Vega and Andrade’s past working together through NXT and onto the main brands. WWE creative, and this is just our speculation, will most likely focus on their time together and how Andrade needs her and so on. Given how tightly woven their careers have been, it makes sense.
But Garza is the hot new thing and he’s been allegedly tabbed as the next Eddie Guerrero by Vince McMahon, so it’d make sense he’d have the best manager in the company at his side. We’ll be expected to feel sympathy for Andrade, but will we?
He’s done such a great job as selling himself as a pompous egomaniac heel that turning him face just doesn’t feel like it’d work. So this would become a heel vs. heel storyline, so who would we root for?
This has so much potential, but it could also be a case where It’d be better to find a way to keep Garza and Andrade together for a while longer and let their tension increase. Having Andrade show something more than arrogance and fury would go a long way to helping us care about him. For many fans, Garza’s the one that has our attention as he oozes charisma, and that’s a difficult mountain to climb for Andrade or anybody else to climb.
It’s just business
Assuming they go along the lines of splitting the pair up, we think it’s safe to say that Garza will be over whether he turns face and is betrayed by Vega and Andrade (we think this is the likely scenario) or stays heel and Vega goes with him.
Although Zelina Vega constantly says she’s a business women, this could end up being a miscalculation on her part if she chooses past allegiances over future spoils. Still, we fully expect her and Andrade to turn on Garza after he walked out last week as he abandoned them, not just Andrade.
Sure, she’ll try to keep them together and may even put off the pair separating for another week or two, but we think Andrade vs. Angel Garza has great potential as a match at Extreme Rules. The kicker? They could wrestle for Vega’s services after she finally has enough of their bickering and will manage the winner. The loser, well, adiós.
